Welcome to my lyrical adventure through life, love, and live shows.
A little about me… Adultish lesbian trying to make a life in the Bible belt. Lover of nerd things like Star Trek, Settlers of Catan and Marvel movies. I have a great job, a fantastic group of friends, and look pretty good on paper. I live for music and live concerts. And I’m constantly struggling with intricacies of dating in an ever-changing scene of apps, social media, bars, and however else you meet actual people.
Let’s be honest- dating is hard. Dating in your 30s as a homo in the Midwest- even harder. So come along as I share the ups and downs of meeting girls, attempting to talk to them, the horror that can be meeting in person, dating, the occasional lay, and much more. All while comparing life to my favorite song lyrics.
Oh just so you know- I use nicknames in all these posts. It protects those who don’t want to be known, and I use it as a way to stay detached. Again…. adultish. I also don’t write in chronological order. More like… I hear a song, feel some feelings and write about them.
Feel free to comment, share your stories, post your favorite lyrics and how they relate to your life, and share with your peeps.
Cause it’s a bittersweet symphony this life
Trying to make ends meet, you’re a slave to the money then you die.
I’ll take you down the only road I’ve ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah. – “Bittersweet Symphony,” The Verve
